Bruce Swerling, President & Treasurer
A graduate of Colby College, Mr. Swerling is the third generation of his family to serve the insuring
public. Mr. Swerling is a Senior Professional Public Adjuster and past president of both the National
and Massachusetts Association of Public Insurance Adjusters. Active in local affairs, he has lectured
widely on contemporary insurance issues. He is responsible for implementing the sophisticated
computer systems that SMW uses in claim preparation. His skills with computers and sense of
organizational priorities help him to manage the effort required to bring closure to devastating
losses including those from tropical storms, such as Bob, Hugo, Andrew, Luis, Marilyn, Georges, Lenny
and Charley, Frances, Ivan & Jeanne in Florida in 2004. A recognized business interruption expert, Mr. Swerling
has handled a wide variety of claims involving commercial, manufacturing, and retail enterprises.
In 2004, the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters honored him as Man of The Year.

Marvin Milton, Senior Vice President
A graduate with great distinction of Stanford University and also of the Harvard Law School, Mr.
Milton has been a public adjuster since 1958 and is the third generation of his family in the
business. He is a member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, the American
Bar Association and its Torts and Insurance Practice Section, the Massachusetts Bar Association,
and the Boston Bar. He has written and lectured extensively on insurance subjects. The National
Association of Public Insurance Adjusters has accorded him the designation of Senior Professional
Public Adjuster in recognition of his having passed a rigid examination and excelled in the
practice of Public Adjusting. The National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters named him
"Person of the Year" in 1997.

Paul Winnick, Executive Vice President
Licensed as a Public Adjuster since 1976, Paul Winnick has advanced Swerling Milton Winnick's
distinctive brand of processing claims throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Mr.
Winnick attended the Boston University School of Management and is a member of the National
Association of Public Insurance Adjusters and the Massachusetts Association of Public Insurance
Adjusters. He serves on the Town of Needham's Ad Hoc Insurance Committee where he brings his
insightful knowledge of insurance policy terms, conditions, and provisions to bear in developing
a comprehensive risk management program for the town. Mr. Winnick conducts seminars and discussion
groups for condominium and real estate industry associations as well as manufacturing and high
technology businesses to educate participants on insurance coverage and disaster recovery plans.

Jim Harlor
In order to be able to evaluate and adjust property damage claims to buildings, one must necessarily
have had experience in the construction industry. James Harlor, one time general contractor and
engineering student at Worcester Polytechnical Institute, comes to his duties at SMW with the academic
credentials and work experience that qualify him to adjust the most challenging of construction
losses. He is a licensed builder and a member of the Southeastern Massachusetts Building Officials
Association as well as having three years prior service as an insurance adjuster.
